An Interesting New Addition...
From June 14 to July 12, I was living in Germany with a host family. I met many new friends and had tons of fun, and of course spent way too much money! For the last few days of my stay, I visited my aunt and her family. Well, what a coincidence--they live about two blocks away from one of the top Widderzwerge breeders in Germany! I couldn't help myself, I had to visit his rabbitry. Then I had a really big problem. The breeder, Gerald Haefner, offered to give me as many of his babies as I wanted. I couldn't resist the offer. He wanted me to take at least five, but I talked him down to two bunnies. I picked out a blue and a broken blue, a doe and a buck. Unfortunately, a week after I got them home I discovered that the blue is a buck. So I am currently working on getting my aunt to bring a doe when she visits for Christmas.
Widderzwerge are small lops, weighing about four pounds. If you ask me, they look like our Mini Lop but with slightly longer ears. The solid blue is called Hektor and the broken blue is called Hansi:)
